Manufacturing & Production Engineer

Following the recent successful recruitment of a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer and significant investment in our manufacturing operation we now need to recruit another Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to complete this investment strategy and deliver the overall improvement plan.

You will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager and all other operational departments in achieving the overall business strategy.

As a Production Engineer, your time will be split between day-to-day activities and long term strategic improvements, responsibilities will include:

• Improving OEE and reducing the cost of manufacture
• Offering support / guidance to the production management team
• Reducing the chance of human error in the production process – poke yoke
• Improvement tools and methodologies such as PFMEA – APQP – SMED – 5S etc
• Improvement in tool life expectancy
• Design & Re-design of jigs and fixtures used in the machining process – CAD / SolidWorks
• Improving the manual assembly process

The Candidate- The ideal candidate will have proven, tangible experience of making improvements in a production engineering / manufacturing environment, ideally in some sort of an engineering based / machining process.  You will be results driven, able to manage your own activities and will have a keen ambition to further yourself.  You can be from either an academic background or have worked your way up through a more traditional, practical route.
